Educating Members While Helping

I love that we can help out our younger generation with loans. A long-time member of Connections and wonderful TFPD brought in his 17 year old daughter for a loan. She (Hallie) had saved up quite a bit of money for a car but needed to finance the rest. Dad (Mike) was just going to finance it for her since she was not 18, but I informed them that we could add Hallie to the loan even at 17. This surprised both of them! I explained how it worked and that the loan would solely be Mike’s responsibility until Hallie turned 18. However, the credit report would show her payment history as soon as it could report to Hallie’s at age 18. They both were super happy about that. So, we did the loan, and at the year mark and after she had turned 18, she came back in and refinanced the car all on her own. We were able to see the history on her credit report as well as her history with CCU and with her 677 score, we were able to finance her all on her own right at 18 ½! She walked out with her head held pretty high that day. And Mike called later to thank me for taking care of his little girl the same way I take care of him.
**Hallie said that she will always use Connections because we actually care about our members, she can feel it.
**Mike said he will never go anywhere else because we are his CU family. He knows that we have his and his family’s best interest at heart and that we will always go above and beyond for him. Just like he does for all of us as a Twin Falls Police Officer.

This is why I love what I do. The personability that we have at each branch, and with each member, is what separates us from every other financial institution.
That is what makes us #ConnectionsStrong
