COVID Loans

This was during the time we were doing the covid loans

For about a year or 2 a woman named Christine came in monthly to pay her landlord who is one of our members. She did not have account with us at the time. I started getting to know her more each time she came in and I had a feeling she needed help but wouldn’t say it out loud. Right when we started doing the covid loans she came in to pay her landlord and we started talking about her opening an account and making it easier to pay her landlord. I mentioned the loan in the process to see if it would help her somehow. She started crying when I told her we could help her.
Come to find out…her husband had committed suicide not long ago and she became a widowed single mom with 6 kids and a couple grand kids and was trying to figure out ways to get by. She has a disability so unable to work a full time job.
Felt sooooo good to be able to help her.
